Dr Belinda Holmes is a passionate, driven and focused Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.

Belinda holds a public appointment at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) where she is working in both the obstetrics and gynaecology services. She has just returned from two years abroad, having completed a gynaecology fellowship in ‘Benign Abdominal Surgery (Open and Laparoscopic)’ at the John Radcliffe Hospital (JR) in Oxford, UK, where she also worked on the senior tier of the busy on-call obstetrics roster. She is highly skilled in benign gynaecology surgeries including laparoscopic or open hysterectomy, removal of ovarian cysts, fibroids and endometriosis, hysteroscopic procedures and the management of pre-cancer cervical conditions, as well as obstetric procedures and the management of complex pregnancy.

She is also undertaking to become an associate fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators as she is passionate about change management and leadership, particularly of women in leadership, having completed the Oxford Women’s Leadership Programme at the University of Oxford.

Belinda studied postgraduate medicine at the University of Sydney and undertook her specialist training at RNSH, completing her advanced training in Oxford, UK. Prior to studying Medicine, she completed an aeronautical engineering
degree and worked in investment banking and aircraft financing. This broad experience has given her an appreciation and commitment to medicine as the privileged career that it is.

She is attentive, compassionate and well-organised, and chose a career in obstetrics and gynaecology as she regards it as a privilege to be involved in caring for people during their most significant life events.

Bel grew up in Sydney and loves travelling, trying new restaurants and sport, and although this involvement has changed as she’s gotten older, she still loves being fit and active. Currently it’s through cycling and tennis, previously it was running and many years ago it was high-level competitive team sports including soccer, oztag and rugby league (she’s actually played for NSW and Australia, so you know she has a safe pair of hands!).

We are a boutique, highly-qualified, all-female Obstetric practice offering personalised Obstetric care for women on Sydney’s North Shore.
